Team Guernsey - The Competitive Edge of GADA Champions of Tomorrow - Blackpool - January 2009 Jamie & Vanessa Le Tissier were proud to support Team Guernsey at the 2009 Champions of Tomorrow competition held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on 9th January 2009. The team has grown from 3 couples to 6 in under a year. As many as 980 dancers turned out to this prestigious event. This year saw Darren Dyke and Sandy Chick compete in Over 35s Intermediate class dancing Foxtrot and Quickstep for their Ballroom and placing 5th in the finals and Cha Cha and Jive for their Latin placing 2nd in the finals. Tony Penney & Lyndsey Bromley competed in the Under 35s Intermediate classes dancing Foxtrot and Quickstep in the Ballroom section and Cha Cha and Jive in the Latin section in which they reached the quarter finals. Newcomers Jonathan Garrit and Celena Tabel competed in the Over 35s Beginners class making Semi finals in both Latin and Ballroom dancing Waltz, Quickstep, Samba and Jive Also Peter van der Tang and Christine Verrykt danced in the same class making Quarter finals in the Latin. Finally Guernsey's first Junior dancing couple Pierce Rogan and Lucy Ozard competed in the Junior beginners class, to make the Quarter finals in the Ballroom dancing Waltz and Quickstep and the Semi Finals in the Latin, dancing the Samba and Cha Cha.
